North Central Clusters Leading Schools Information
The north central Cluster of schools has been working on a 'Personal Best' initiative, an integrated approach accross the schools to develop an innovative facilitiy in each school that will be a hive of research and learning, challenge traditional teaching methods and foster a learning culture of engagement and excitment and provide an enhanced curriculum, especially in the post compulsory years.
An innovative "classroom 21" facility in each school will be set up in each school and six additional teachers have been employed.
Main strategies have included:
Establishment of a professional learning team to provide peer support for the implementation of the project.
Establishment of a centre of learning - Classroom 21
Use of Video conferencing to deliver a rich ICT curriculum.
Constructing a curriculum that utilises programs such as 'Habits of Mind' and 'Intel teach to the future'
